Jennifer Mateer

Jennifer is a past member of the Critical Geographies Research Lab, having completed her PhD at the University of Victoria under the supervision of Simon Springer in 2017.  Her research interests cover issues related to environmental management, environmental justice, urban political ecology, alternative resource management, the hydro-social cycle, biopolitics of the environment, critical geography, alternative ethnographies, neoliberalism, and the rights to the city.  Her recent postdoctoral research has included research on the housing crisis in British Columbia and the impact of short-term rentals on the housing market as well as new environmental litigations in India.
